Fatal Mistakes in Exhibition Booth Design

After building 80+ booths at Saudi shows, we've identified the mistakes that empty booths of visitors. Avoid them all.

You invest SAR 100K in a booth, then day one shows visitors walking past without stopping. The reasons are usually the same — and all avoidable.

The Six Most Common Mistakes

1) Logo too small to read from distance. Fix: a 1m+ logo above eye level.

2) Reception desk blocking the front. Fix: move it sideways or eliminate.

3) Booth team sitting on their phones. Fix: stand up, smile, approach visitors.

4) No clear reason to stop (no demo, no sampling, no interaction). Fix: invent at least one.

5) Dim general lighting. Fix: spot lighting that guides attention to key elements.

6) No way to capture visitor data. Fix: a digital or paper lead capture system.

A booth isn't a decor showcase — it's a lead generation machine. Every design decision should answer one question: does this make lead capture easier or harder?
